Christ Church, York mosaic commission

It has been a brilliant week. Following a one day workshop at Christ Church, York with the congregation, earlier in the month, we created a beautiful vibrant mosaic to celebrate 50 years of the church being built. The mosaic was designed by Kenneth Caffrey and has now been grouted and is ready for installation in the vestibule measuring 80x60cm. This is my first church-based mosaic workshop and I would love to do more everyone was so friendly and the cakes were amazing!

I hava also had confirmation of my exhibition in March 2015 at the Otley Courthouse Arts Centre so must get cracking making more of my own mosaics.

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust have also confirmed they would like to commission me to work with school children and residents in Heworth, York to create a large floor mosaic which will provide signage for the Dig In gardening project at Glen Gardens.

And finally tomorrow I am heading off to the Ropewalk Contemporary Gallery in Barton-on-the Humber, North Lincolnshire to provide a one day workshop creating wall plaques before heading off next week to Cottingley Primary Academy in Leeds to begin a year long project creating four wall mosaics relecting the seasons.

Last week wasn’t bad either…working with Salterhebble Junior & Infant Primary School, Halifax creating a wall mosaic to welcome visitors to the school! I love mosaics!!!!
